How Do 1100 Elected Officials Across Canada Break Down By Generation?

March 28, 2019

The Forum for Millennial Leadership undertook a unique study of the generational and gender breakdown of the 1100 elected officials in Canada’s Federal, Provincial, and Territorial governments.  Disclosure of the dates of birth of elected officials is not required in Canada, so we had search and scrape data from multiple sources, including direct inquiries to elected officials. The bottom line: Millennials are the largest generation of potential voters in Canada, but are drastically underrepresented at every level of government.

What exactly is the Millennial Generation?  There is no clear consensus among pollsters, demographers, and researchers.  We used a roughly consensus model in our research.
