With discussion ranging from the divide between policymakers and Millennial voters, to how gender factors into politics, and beyond.

Mario Canseco, President, Research Co.

Mario Canseco has analyzed and conducted public opinion research for more than 15 years, designing and managing research projects for clients across the private and public sectors, as well as non-profit organizations and associations. Mario is a sought-after commentator on political and sociological issues, and writes for the Vancouver Sun, the National Observer and Business in Vancouver

Anna Lilly, Senior Vice President & Partner, FleishmanHillard HighRoad

Anna Lilly is a member of FleishmanHillard’s global Reputation Management practice and has worked in media, government and communications in Metro Vancouver for more than 20 years. She provides local and national communications program management for a range of clients in the transportation, health care, natural resources and retail sectors and has extensive experience working for and with municipal governments on strategic planning, issues management and public engagement.

Grace Lore, Professor at the University of Victoria

Grace is a Professor at the University of Victoria, Senior Researcher for Equal Voice, and has a PhD from UBC where she studied women’s political representation.  Grace is also a Mom of two small kids. She joins us today as an academic commentator, but Grace Lore is also a candidate for Victoria City Council.

Stephen von Sychowski, President, Vancouver & District Labour Council

Stephen von Sychowski is the recently elected President of the Vancouver and District Labour Council. Stephen is a Union Representative with MoveUP, a union he became a member of in 2007 when he started working at Coast Mountain Bus Company. He is also a member of United Steelworkers Local 2009. Stephen has been active and held positions at all levels of the labour movement.

Charmaine has worked in some of Canada’s best newsrooms. She was a news anchor for CBC Radio One in BC, and helped lead the CKNW newsroom as Senior Reporter and Assistant News Director. As News Director at NEWS 1130, Charmaine leads Western Canada’s largest radio newsroom.  Charmaine is a three-time National RTDNA award-winner, two-time BCAB award winner, and has been a Webster Award finalist.
